What exactly is a shrub?
A shrub is a plant whose stems become woody.
Branches form just above the ground. Shrubs do not develop a (distinct) trunk.
Unlike the perennials, shrubs remain above ground in the winter. There are also varieties that evergreen are (evergreen).

- Branches just above the ground
- No tribe
- They remain above ground even in winter
